Studio Commission

A percentage of each tattoo's price that the artist pays the studio in exchange for using the space and structure.

This is one of the most common payment models between studios and resident or guest artists: instead of paying a fixed monthly amount, the artist hands over a slice (usually 30% to 50%) of each job completed. This model lowers financial risk in slower months, but it means giving up a larger share of profit in busy ones — the opposite trade-off of a fixed chair rental.
